The Thin Man

The Thin ManDo you think the Americans should have declined the Thin Man?

Do you think the Americans should have declined the Thin Man? Or do you think two was enough?

Some people think they should have been bombarded the surface of the earth .. but we felt sorry for them, even if they did not have mercy on one of the countries they have killed, raped and murdered in. When MacArthur was to accept their surrender on the Missouri They had planes that were ready to kamakasi and the only reason why they did'nt because the cousin of emperors were arrested.

I suggest that two nuclear bombs was more than enough.

As far as I understand "Thin Man" could not be used because it has not been completed and ready by August 1945.

No, they could not.

During the development of design 'Thin Man' plutonium gun was discovered that it is virtually impossible. It would require a larger bomber then in existence or even the design of the delivery if it was not possible to develop the weapon.

While Little Boy used the design of firearms and uranium was a fairly simple device, the same process did not work for plutonium. Because plutonium is more "reactive" than uranium it needs a greater muzzle velocity and a much longer 'barrel' to prevent the detonation front.

Instead it was decided that the plutonium bomb (Fat Man) would be an "implosion" device, much more difficult to engineer, but with a larger explosion.

All nuclear bombs are now based on the implosion design plutonium.

Both bombs were the result they were supposed too, but if they have been abandoned is another argument.
