Can I make an image of Leopard on my iMac and my MacBook boot with it? If yes, how? I want my macbook to Leopard boot image I created, but I want to do this using the iMac's FireWire to MacBook.
Maybe if you boot the iMac in target disk mode .....
First connect the Mac using a FireWire cable. Then, restart the iMac and hold down the "T" key when you hear the bells. Then put the MacBook while holding down the "Option". That may allow you to boot from the selected disk, and you may be able to select the bootable image on the iMac.
I did it from an external hard drive, but not another Mac. However, if you boot the iMac in target disk mode, it should mount as a MacBook device, it should work.
I have so much to refine my iMac ..... if I do not remember what I did to change the way it bootload ..... I could not miss a step.
Good luck!
Why do you "image"? You can not boot any computer from an image. You need a floppy boot a computer. You can use Disk Utility to clone an image onto a hard drive or burn an image on a DVD, but it still does not start or that the resulting system will work well. It depends on what type of image. For example, if you have an image of iMac hard drive, it will not work well with a MacBook. How the MacBook to regulate the use of the battery without having to install specific software for this? You also need drivers for the MacBook and they are not installed on the iMac. If you choose to submit your question again, please explain what type of image you have.
