On top of the world As I wound my way up, my breathing became more labored and gradually it became more of an effort to climb the long haul. I stopped a while back my composure and looking at the magnificent panorama already, then up to my goal, I realized that the rock bastions above have been achieved today and I continue to urge that further until finally, I finished my task. I took a moment to savor this victory before looking across the landscape to enjoy the view ... I felt that I was standing on the roof of the world.
A scene from the conquest of Everest ... the ascent of the Matterhorn, perhaps?
Not at all, but good memories of my ascent from Edinburgh Castle Hill some years ago when I took a break from the city in a great city Midlothian. I remember so well that my break in Edinburgh was one of the best moments of my life. I remember booking in a beautiful hotel in Edinburgh , the Castle Hotel Melville, who was in fact a real 18th century castle. I thought at the time that if I'll check in a Hotel Edinburgh he might as well be good and with only 32 rooms and set as it was in about 50 acres of parkland, this would be a bit of an oasis urban.
Me did not linger long, however, my beautiful hotel in Edinburgh has been, I wanted to also see the sights in the Scottish capital and so it was that I took a taxi to take me to my destination only 20 minutes.
The most amazing attraction in Edinburgh (Edinburgh outside my hotel - which to this day remains in my memory) must be the castle of Edinburgh. It is situated atop a huge volcanic outcrop overlooking and dominating the city. A trip to the summit will reward the visitor with a magnificent view as well as interesting attractions and historic castle itself. It is interesting to note that public transport is available to take you to the hilltop castle, but there are still some intrepid souls who want to experience the castle and make the ascent on foot long (like me) . For these brave individuals, it will be of comfort to know that the way back, a well-stocked Pub waits at the foot of the hill!
There are dozens of other attractions in Edinburgh is fabulous and if I have fond memories of walking through the Georgian splendor of many beautiful streets, take in the magnificent shops of central Edinburgh, and open spaces Edinburgh Botanic Gardens and Holyrood Park, which is consistent with my memories of food and major social and night life that I met there.
Across the city gave me some of the best times I had and I can not recommended enough ... all I can say is, to get up to Edinburgh, get booked in a Hotels in Edinburgh and enter you happy memories!
