Zombie's Halloween 2 comments Writer / director Rob Zombie's Halloween II is the sequel to his remake of Halloween before. This time he followed a year later after Halloween massacre in Haddonfield, Illinois.
I must say Zombie take on his second time around is a little different then the first. This film is the focal point for all horror fans around. From the ultra gore splashing sound effects for the hearing of a man's head being trampled is simply incredible. But there are ups and downs like Myers (Tyler Mane) use kill knife is controlled masterful, but an equal amount of its use in the hand. Nearly a wrestler in disguise.
Now, the ideas of Zombie we still see pieces of what he likes best about his horror film. You always have the feeling of their dialogue Redneck Hicks dishing dirt. The film pays tribute to the old suites Halloween. A true fan of Halloween as I would be able to point out. Paying tribute to the former is really what should be a remake. But not completely shot to death.
Halloween Zombie reimagining is intended to be different from the original. 1978 Carpenter Halloween tries to realize the idea that you could not just kill the evil. As if evil is a seed planted just waiting for its true shape. When Carpenter created his form of Michael Myers (Nick Castle). In this film, we finally understand what Zombie is trying to achieve. You can kill the evil, but the twist is that the evil is supposed to convey. Zombie creates this idea is not born evil, but to create it. Because we are observing nature versus nurture on the Discovery Channel. Zombie is in the mind to bring out its psychological Michael Myers. Almost becoming something else we did not see it coming ... rights. Carpenter's The Shape had no emotion to gain any performance until Halloween Carpenter 2 erasing his family tree. Zombie idea is to create the kind of mass murderer who kills his victims and hang them as ornaments in a Christmas tree.
To return Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton), a year of rest and return gal-pal Annie Brackett (Danielle Harris) who is facing the scar. With Annie's life seems normal, as if what is happening to her was a dream of myth. When the zombie like Laurie is having nightmares reimaging moments later screaming: "I'm Michael Myers sister!". And that alone speaks volumes of what we expect from this movie. Now the steps that Zombie is committed to the original is the place where he took the pieces of the original to the piece a different seed.
As for Dr Loomis (Malcolm McDowell), the child psychiatrist who is not an enemy of Myers. Their relationship was more tragic in a friendship since the beginning. Zombie was trying to show that Loomis is not the shade of gray, but almost light-gray. But over time to believe that Myers died the first film. Loomis is this little punk fear that feeds on innocent people just make a quick buck by taking advantage of the murders. However, in Loomis Carpenters Halloween was more of a nemesis Myers, nearly a shield against Myers. Zombie wanted to show his nemesis which is not standing before you, but what's inside your mind.
Zombie does not try to create Michael "The Shape" Michael Myers, but "Psycho" Myers. The characters are created in a finger twisting tension just waiting to happen. The writing is pretty good. For administrators who are remakes are still in the idea of thought they could because of the original with a different direction. I do not say that Zombie imaged to Carpenter, but he took his shot and the cup was half full. Not that the movie is not worth the taste.
While management is an excellent point of view. The fan of the old or new, or simply both. I must say that the fan of horror is within shouting bloody murder so go buy a ticket and have a kick ass time. Horror films are intended.
