Why write on a Facebook "wall", as opposed to a private message? The archetype of the "Wall" is used in all social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, is a space to write a message to another person. What is our obsession with broadcasting messages to others to have access to the wall, instead of using the private message function, which is also available across the board on social networking sites.
If this is not a private conversation why not? Whenever you talk to someone do you go into another room so it will be just the two of you ... No, it would be madness. If it's a private conversation, you do not want others to see then send a private message if you just want to say Hi and leave a quick post on the wall, not people or the comments section.
Because they want other people to join the discussion.
People use it as a way not display a message that should be fun, fast everyone to see. People like to be noticed.
When people have a message that is more personal or directed a person, they generally use the private message function.
To be socially extroverted and updated with people as stubborn and junk you will probably never meet.
Even if I am guilty of doing so, I agree! I still think it's absurd when I see the crazy things people have posted for everyone to see ... "OMG, I can not believe I held your hair while you threw on Bush last night!" Geez. Your "friends" do not need that much information.
If I use the wall, only to make a comment like "Happy Birthday" to "I love this new photo. Save the personnel and / or embarrassing things for a message.:)
