Police Academy

I'm looking at the Police Academy and all seems OK, but I've heard horror stories about the execution, can someone tell me how much is expected running in PA

you will run almost on a daily basis, we used to run the mile, 5000. when tested for the race we had acertain amount of time to make a run in the mile. If you're not a runner, I would go there and run every day for the next 6 months before trying. Depending on your age also depend on the "timed" Run. "For example say someone is 18 maybe you would be expected to do a mile in 6 minutes. If you say 30, we can expect to do a mile in 15 minutes (this is conjecture). When I was at the Academy in 1971, I made a mile in 6 minutes. Things have changed radically since then. last I heard on the mile run for a 22yr old 18-min was 6.5. mile.

Depending on what state you're in it depends. In California, we have after certification that we need to do to get by. The physical asspect I know is this. The first 3 weeks you do a mile running. Second three weeks, you start to move up made of 2 to 3 miles. The most I know who you are going on a 5 mile race through the area around the Academy. The training is however sent to be hard on you. It will push you to fight when you think you can not and thats what its ment to. Good luck

I guess it's a question the United States as police officers in the UK now do their training at the university.

It is not that bad. The more they make you run is 5 miles. Of course, it can become very tire, but an average person should be able to do so.
