Me And You And Everyone We Know

Me And You And Everyone We KnowRob Crickett: Knowing God

Knowing God - a sermon preached in Nyagatare by Dr. Rob Crickett

Nyagatare is in the North East Rwanda. Sermonde took place May 3, 2005.

Thank you for your warm welcome. On the evening of last night Munanira Bishop Bernard and his wife and others were sitting around the table talking about what we could do today? The bishop advised me to do a little teaching about how to walk with Jesus Christ, how to walk in the kingdom of heaven, ready to march for the Lord to return to the world.

I think the best thing to remember is that if we can live in heaven on earth, then we will live our best now and forever. Sometimes when we're alone and we are very depressed in ourselves, we bow. Sometimes when the pain is on us, we completely hide and we just roll into a little ball and we do not want to find someone.

But Jesus wants us to be a whole person and Jesus wants us to grow. Amen? And Jesus put his Spirit within us. Amen? And when he puts his Spirit within us and we are beginning to come to church and we listen to the instructions of the pastor and some of the instruction is a bit hard for us, but the pastor said: "There is within you which is larger than the world and the one in the world (1 John 4:4)! "And you think, and do a little streeeetch this idea.

You can stretch a bit. Not much. But you can grow a bit. For example, you continue to come to church, and you adjust with a little discipline, and after a while you say "Yes, I grew a little, like the pastor said, but it ' is enough for me. I do not need to stretch any more than I already did. "

We believe that, "I am a Christian today, and I can watch all these people who are not strained and they are different from me. I'm so wonderful and so good, I stretched a little. "

But then the Lord says: "You should get more. You become a new person. You should not simply the elderly person who has stretched his attitude a bit. The elderly person must actually go and a whole new person must be born. "

But you think: "Yes, but I already tight enough!"

He said: "No, no, no. I'll stretch more. "

And God will take you in situations that challenge you and you start to stretch, like your world is just stretched and stretched to accommodate the new things and new ways of thinking.

You think: "Oh, do not do that for me God. Do I stretch, Lord! It is better than I did before. Before you ever came into my life. I was pleased how I was ... Well, more or less happy. You know God, sin is not so bad. It's better than this stretch that you do for me!

But the Lord said: "No, no. Listen to your heart. Come gentle with me, where I am. "

After a bit you give, you do stretch a bit. You begin to trust God. Then after a while, you say: "This is actually very good! Life is actually better here than in the past. Although the section is rather strange and even painful, it was worth it. "

Then one day, the pastor comes to you and says: "You need to be filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues." One day in service, the Holy Spirit was really powerful and has done and all A .... sudden arghh! ... a big stretch! And you even stretch in your head just trying to get all your ideas together in this extraordinary experience in God ... arghh!

But when it's over you say: "Oh, I found Jesus Christ! Now I'm really a Christian. Now I can relax and just live my life in peace and tranquility. "But.
