Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking BarrelsA question about Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels ....?

A few days back, I saw this movie called "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and recommeneded to most of my friends. But each time before watching a movie, I read the comments. This time, I read them after seeing the film. But the only thing I noticed is the comparison of this film with films of Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino is a filmmaker perhaps surprising, but I failed to notice similarities between Lock, Stock .... Movies & Tarantino. Also, many people do not quite like the movie just because it was made by a British director (I do not understand why?).
I think Lock, Stock was very funny ... Please someone explain to me what is the thing with "British directors are poor Gangster-Movie"?

I loved Lock, Stock ,.... Snatched but is seen as a U.S. most because it was published here. The biggest problem was snatched the same actors playing the same type of role that is in the lock, I get the two mixed up some time. But Guy (Mr. Maddon) do make good movies.

Other than brutalilty first, there is no comparison between Tarantino and Guy Richie movies. Lock, Stock ... and Snatch (another movie Richie) are both very good films. Most ppl I know loved these two movies and have them in their collection. I do not know why ppl would be something that the British can not make a good gangster film, but Lock, Stock .. not quite in that category. There are plenty of thugs, but no obvious organized gang. But whatever the case, it is a cult classic and I love watching this movie.
