Women in the U.S. too materialistic / vain as a whole? I do not intend to be partisan or more indulgent towards one gender (in this case men), but for the sake of this question I posed on women and materialism / vanity.
I do not live an austere lifestyle completely as I sometimes buy things for my own pleasure, but I think being frugal and conservative in your spending habits and traits.
One aspect that I feel some women I meet are materialists / vain is their willingness to buy online, either on decorations, clothing and other items. If you have enough shoes (two or three pairs of shoes good), what reason do you have no other than you enjoy? I guess it could be a NULL argument and could easily be countered with a question the usefulness of my spending habits, for example, "why do you buy books if you have already? but I'm just trying to convey my ideas. However, say you have 10 pairs of shoes. In my opinion, which seems a bit much how much you love the shoes.
In addition to spending beyond, I noticed that many women are still concerned about the makeup, etc. I know that many women want to look attractive and the company often drives women to care too much about their appearance. I agree that women can be quite attractive with makeup, and I am aware that it gives them confidence, but I'd rather see a woman who prefers not to wear makeup or at least doing very little for those who regularly use makeup. If nobody wore makeup, and then would not our perception of beauty is what is normal to be beautified?
Anyway, enough of me spitting my ideas to you. For this question, I'm mostly talking about women whose main hobby is shopping.
I'm an American, I have two pairs of shoes a brown-black for winter and one pair of boots. I have a pair of tennis shoes for the summer and a pair of sandals. My work clothes are about 6 years and are still in good condition (because I take care of them) and I have two pairs of jeans. I do not like to shop, in fact, this Christmas, I gave each family some money and told them to go shopping for my grandchildren and put my name on the gift tag. Not all American women love to shop. Some are crazy for her (my stepdaughter is one of them), they live beyond their means and pay a lot now that the economy took a dump. I think people who are shopaholics are poor and use it as a way to feel better (just my opinion should not spazz about it). Being thrifty is not a bad thing. I know I'll be able to pay my bills and put a small amount in my savings every month. That makes me feel safe.
I live in the USA and I am a woman of 22 years and I'm not like that. but yes of course many women here are like that. many women here spend money, they don t have (credit cards) and are in debt so much.
Yes, American women have the reputation of being mean materialistic, high maintenance and demanding in relationships. Much of that has to do with women's lib movement, advocated by people like Gloria Steinhem, etc. In the land of women the most likely Americans aspire to live the life of privilege and never having to worry about new money. In this country (USA), is where beginners (gold miners fully trained) has become an American tradition, to raise the girls. If a woman tells you she has attended "Charm School "...... flee!
What will you do with all the money you save? The only goal is money to be spent, if you have enough to distribute the rest someone else will spend it. Why should you care what others do with their money? I do not know anyone who has made life with their money. The money is largely overrated. He can not do anything, but somehow inspires the world.
