INTRODUCTION

The beautiful Delhi. Delhi on terrible! What orgies of celebration, the horrors of pillage and blood did not he endured-Norah Rowan Hamilton

Geographically, Delhi is in the form of a circle radius of 30 km and is like a huge blob of black and gray on the edge of the Indo Gangetic plain, one of the flattest, most fertile and most densely populated in world. To the east and north of Delhi are the green fields of the plain to the west is the Thar Desert and south of the river Yamuna. Some 300km north of Delhi are the mountains of the Himalayas.

Delhi is not an ordinary city. It has always been the vortex of important political events and has a solid historical experience. Given the fact that it was governed by some of the most powerful emperors in Indian history, Delhi has witnessed political turmoil for more than five centuries. Input stage with the first ruler who recognized the strategic advantages of location, it has since never looked back. Every wall and pillar of ruined monuments and ruins has its own history to tell. All of yesterday is filled with history. Delhi has a majestic and royal history which is quite bright for the rise and fall of different rules. While the leaders came and went, the city has lived through wars and resurrection, repeatedly rising from the ashes. There is no denying the fact that the history of India revolves around the rich history of Delhi.

Nobody really knows when Delhi has begun. Archaeological excavations near the city have unearthed the ruins that are thousands of years. Some of these ruins have been identified with the Indus culture. This is an important finding because this culture has been identified as one of four centers that were the origins of human civilization (the others were China, Mesopotamia and Egypt). Evidence of housing around Delhi from early history to the medieval period comes mainly from archaeological excavations on the site Purana Quila. Evidence of the Mauryan period (300 BC) is provided by the emergence of the North Black Polished Ware (NBPW), an earthenware marked by a shiny surface, and punch marked coins. According to Sharma YD "Housing seems to have started at or near the site of Delhi about three thousand years. Purana Quila Author, raised in the sixteenth century, trial trenches in 1955 revealed the presence of a fine gray sandstone usually painted with simple designs in black. Known as the Painted Grey Ware (PGW), the pottery is often dated to 1000 BC Archaeological c. It was shown that the area in and around Delhi has been inhabited since the time earlier. tools of the Stone Age found are indicative of this. The stone tools belonging to early stone age were discovered from the Aravalli tracts in and around Anangpur on campus 'Jawaharlal Nehru, the northern ridge and elsewhere - evidence that early humans lived here. Mandoli and Bhorgarh excavations in the eastern and north-west Delhi respectively have thrown the remnants dating to the Chalcolithic period 2 millennium BC, 1st millennium BC and the remains of the 4th to 5th century AD were found here. Excavations of the ancient mound Indraprastha, capital of the Pandavas, located within the fold of the sixteenth century Purana Quila revealed evidence of continuous habitation of the site nearly 2,500 years.

India is a land of religions. It has facilitated the origin of many organized religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, etc. Religions have always influenced the daily lives of people in India. W.
