American Kickboxer 2The history of Kickboxing

In many martial arts, the true origin or starting point is usually dark and unknown. This is also true for the kickboxing martial art, however, can be traced back to a point in the creation of all kinds. During the first half of 1950, a man named Osamu Noguchi was a prominent boxer and amateur boxing in Japan. He traveled the world to watch the boxing matches and became popular like the style of boxing used in Thailand, Muay Thai.

At that time, a man named Tatsuo Yamada (creator of Nihon Kempo Karate-do) has an interest in Muay Thai and he sought to find a form of combat where opponents could include strikes directly at each other and contact the target area of the body adversaries.

In karate, the opponents are never allowed to contact them directly. Around the year 1959, Tatsuo Yamada created what he calls Karate Boxing popularity was not entirely removed at this point because it was still a relatively unknown sport.

Tatsuo Yamada and Osamu Noguchi met (they were one of the few people interested in the sport of Muay Thai) and have worked together to create Karate vs Muay Thai matches where opponents can participate. It was actually Osamu Noguchi who coined the term kickboxing and after several games, the popularity of this new martial art spread quickly.

Before his death in 1967, Osamu Noguchi also created the Association of Kickboxing Kickboxing and it was after this that began to take its rightful place, not only from Japan but also in other countries. However, when Tashadi Sawamura (one of the most popular kickboxers during this time) kickboxing experienced a brief lull in popularity, but has bounced around the year 1993, when the neck and neck fight sports have been banned by Kazuyoshi Ishii (creator of the martial art Karate Seidokan). Soon after the spread of this popularity is kickboxing countries of North America, Australia and Europe.

Japanese kickboxing has very little different from its parent art of Muay Thai. The rules are very similar in both sports, including the continuing struggle of the neck and elbow (the American version does not allow such movement) and one minute intervals. American Kickboxing took a more modern form, allowing the strike is with the hands or feet and sometimes the guards, but rarely allowing. It is generally accepted that the U.S. freestyle kickboxing kickboxing (or) more of a mixture of karate and boxing a regular form of Muay Thai.

The presence of some kicks, punches and strikes in every form of kickboxing direct result of the founders Tatsuo Yamada and Osamu Naguchi like the uppercut, the hook and the circular kick. There are, however, many techniques have been developed since the creation Naguchi Yamada and sports such as kneeling techniques (including knee and right knee leaping strike). Kickboxing has evolved into one of today's most popular sports and martial arts, credit can be given to its founders, Yamada and Naguchi.
