NYC Lincoln after the collapse of the tunnel? Hey, I wondered what would happen if the Lincoln Tunnel in New York were to collapse. For the purposes of my question, any emergency procedure in place is null and void. Is there a situation where the tunnel could fill with water and overflow into Manhattan and New Jersey? I am not great with physics. Also, how difficult would it be for that tunnel to be destroyed? Anyone have any ideas?
(PS it's a disaster / Apocalypse project I'm working on, Thanks in advance)
The tunnel would fill with water, but not much flow in NY / NJ. The water can not go higher than the level of the surrounding water. The approaches of the tunnel (partly on land masses) would also flood, but only at the nearby Hudson.
